Micro Inspector Biologic Test Kits

The patented Micro Inspector biologic test is a time-based test requiring 3 or less observations of color that show a presence or absence of viable microbes. When started, the color of the sample is a pale yellow. The presence of microbes in the sample causes the sample to turn orange or red. The test sample is observed for the possible orange or red color at 4, 12 and 24 hours after starting the test. If the color has remained yellow, the test is continued until the next observation time. If the sample color is still yellow at 24 hours, the test is over and the microbe results were negative. The longer the test sample goes without turning orange or red the fewer number of microbes present.

Why Test

There are 3 types of Micro Inspector microbial tests:
Total Microbial Test Kit – tests for all microbes
Coliform Test Kit – tests specifically for total coliform presence
E-Coli Test Kit – tests specifically for e coli presence

Within each test type is a test kit for different sample environments:
water sample
indoor air quality, dry surfaces
food and objects

To see how a test is performed, please visit our “How It Works” page.

If test results are positive please take the following recommended corrective steps:

Area Corrective steps
Well water Clean or sanitize well and entire plumbing system by shock chlorination
Public water Contact supplier, get filter, check pipes
Heating/AC ducts Contact a local cleaning service
Food Throw away, clean all food prep areas
Water/air filters Replace with new filter
Kitchen surfaces Clean with a chlorinated cleaner
Bathroom surfaces Clean with a chlorinated cleaner

For all persistent or recurring problems, consult with a health professional.

The contents of a Micro Inspector test sample ampoule can be analyzed by a laboratory and a detailed report can be provided on specific toxic contaminants. Please do the following: refrigerate your test sample immediately after test shows microbial contamination and order a laboratory test from our "order form". We will make arrangements through a certified laboratory and e-mail you shipping instructions.
